March 2026 Minutes
Draft Notes of the meeting of the Parish Council held on Thursday 19 March, 2026
Present: Cllr L Reilly (Chair), Cllr J Wilkinson, Cllr S Ryde
Also present: Mrs J Eley (Clerk)
Cllr R Kendrick
Meeting opened 19.32pm
26/13 The Chair opened the meeting, welcomed all present and thanked the Clerk for her work with the council in the light of her pending retirement. She then handed the meeting over to Cllr R Kendrick.
Meeting paused 7.34pm.
Cllr Kendrick spoke about the full council meeting in which the council budget and council tax rate was passed and the extra £36 million provided by government - disappointingly not being used to help residents with a 0% increase in council tax. He reminded everyone of the Volunteers scheme which is doing fantastic work, briefly addressed the pot hole issue and Fix My Street app.
Meeting resumed 20.02pm
26/14 Apologies: Cllr A Bailey, currently unwell, Cllr A Eley, also unwell.
26/15 Declarations of Interest – None declared
26/16 Approval of Draft Minutes from the last meeting- notes of the PC meeting held on 22 January, 2026 presented via projector and approved – copy later pp’d by Clerk.
26/17 Clerks report on outstanding matters –
Moving the dog waste bin - Cllr J Wilkinson (given that it is on her land), agreed to the move and all approved the purchase of a post to facilitate such a move. Volunteers scheme agreed to carry out works when the PC is ready to do so.
26/18 Springwell Solar Farm – no further updates – awaiting April announcement.
26/19 Bloxholm Lane – speeding issues. This was addressed but as the lane in question is out of the PC area nothing further planned other than advising the lady who made the enquiry. Cllr R Kendrick aware of the situation.
26/20 Defibs in Ashby and Bloxholm – it was agreed to outsource the care and upkeep of the defibrillators to an external company as this seems the safest way to ensure that they are maintained and therefore ready for use if ever needed. Clerk to obtain quotes for this service.
