Draft Notes of the meeting of the Parish Council held on Tuesday 22nd May, 2025
Present: Cllr L Reilly (Chair), , Cllr J Wilkinson, Cllr A Eley, Cllr W Lawrence, Cllr Ryde
Also present: Mrs J Eley (Clerk)
Meeting opened 19.34pm
25/26 Election of Chair and signing of Declaration of Office – current chair re-elected, firsted by Cllr S Ryde and seconded by Cllr W Lawrence. Form signed.
25/27 Election of Vice-Chair – current vice-chair Cllr G White, resigned from his role as a Councillor creating a vacancy for a new Councillor. There are now 4 vacancies. Cllr W Lawrence stepped up as temporary Vice-Chair firsted by Cllr L Reilly and seconded by Cllr T Eley. Declaration of Office form completed under temporary understanding.
25/28 Apologies – received from Cllr A Bailey.
25/29 Declarations of Interest – None received.
25/30 Approval of Draft Minutes from the last meeting- notes of the PC meeting held on 18th March, 2025 presented and subsequently approved and signed.
25/31 Clerks report on outstanding matters –
Bloxholm Bridge – repairs booked in for end of May. Road Closure notices on site.
Anti-Solar Demonstrations – offer of £250 donation from PC accepted – monies to be forwarded when requested (invoice required)
Water Leak – Main St, Ashby. Cllr Kendrick following this up for the PC.
Street numbering now to inc. Hall Gardens, Bloxholm.
Public Rights of Way – no comments.
25/32 Village gates - Cllr Eley provided a brief update in that PC are still awaiting delivery of gates, LCC made aware of delay.
25/33 Defrillator – LIVES no longer carrying out guardianship of the defibs in both Ashby and Bloxholm. Cllr Eley agreed to take on monthly checks. LIVES have also stated that the pads will no longer be available for the PC models after 2026 and therefore new defibs will need to be bought next year to replace current out of date ones. Pads are required now for Ashby at a cost of £210 inc VAT. A cheque was signed in readiness for their invoice as they have ordered them for us.
